That sucks close firehouses
It absolutely sucks that firehouses are shut down and then these incidents prove them wrong
The owner should sue billionaire Bloomberg for closing Our Firehouses under his erroneous money crisis
busy day in the city same way in the volunteer for community day and others things as well emergency mutual aid standby for cover
Busy day!! Be safe!

“We were sitting in our living room when our neighbor’s daughter came over and started knocking hysterically on our door. All she could say was, ‘My dad, my dad!’ My husband ran to their house while I told our kids we would be right back, and when I got to the house, my husband had our neighbor, John, on the floor. We looked at each other and went into automatic mode, beginning CPR to try to save his life. His wife was next to me, and she asked me to please not let him die,” says FDNY EMT Patricia Magas, an 18-year Department veteran, who was off-duty when she and her husband, FDNY Firefighter Chris Magas, rushed to their neighbor’s home after he fell into cardiac arrest. Their neighbor, retired NYPD Sergeant John Driscoll, says, “My wife told me that she heard the dogs barking differently than they had ever barked before, and then when they went silent, she heard a thud downstairs. I was sitting on a chair, and I had lost consciousness and fallen to the ground. I didn’t have a pulse. If it wasn’t for Chris and Patty, I would be dead. I wouldn’t be here to tell this story. Instead, I was discharged from the hospital and back home by 6 am the following morning. Their training kicked in instantaneously, they didn’t even have to think about what to do. They’re like family to us, and they saved me.” Firefighter Magas says, “John regained his pulse and was breathing on his own by the time the ambulance arrived. Bystander CPR could have been the difference between life and death for him. My wife and I work for the Fire Department, but you don’t have to be a professional to learn CPR. Everyone should learn how to do CPR. You never know when you can help save a life.” The FDNY can help you learn the skills necessary to help save a life. The FDNY Free CPR Program has trained thousands of New Yorkers in hands-only CPR and basic AED instruction. I will say this....learning CPR and actually performing CPR.... truly is 2 different scenarios. Best advise I can pass on to anyone.....stay calm and remember your training ❤❤❤
Great Job Patricia and Chris!!

Stay safe brother
Sounds like they got good knock.

I hope the fire department isn't blocking the bus lane. VISION ZERO.
Thank you Rescue Team for a good job. Sorry people don't think how many lives they put in danger!
Let’s see waves like this and no lifeguards. No wonder they were in distress.
This is horrible, so the so called swimmer don’t give a fuck about putting other lives in danger, this is horrible, my question is do these so called swimmers get a hefty fine??? If not they should.
Stay safe 🙏

FDNY Fire Marshals have determined that the September 19th fatal all-hands fire at 163-53 Mathias Avenue in Queens, in which 1 civilian was killed, was accidental, caused by a space heater. FDNY reminds New Yorkers that space heaters need space. Keep your heater at least 3 feet from bedding, curtains, and other materials, and always plug your heater directly into a wall outlet. I think we need to attend his next speaking event. Would love to hear what he has to say
There's a few pictures of him & Forras... that is the sign
What a disgrace. Worked the whole time on the pile, battling two cancers. Tell know one about it, first time in 18 years went to foot prints.. 30 years FDNY. FUCK HIM!
I just requested a booking! I can’t wait to hear back from him to give him a piece of my brilliant mind😡😡
Me thinks I need to sit in on one of his events. I hope it's a Q and A.
I’m a Paterson Firefighter I can tell you first hand this guy isn’t on our department
Reviews of his “ book aren’t so hot “
Love how a credited organization such as All American Speakers Bureau even gives him credit they don’t fact check anything anymore
This guy has quite the impressive resume
I was paterson fd for 27 years. Retired 2 years ago. Never heard of him.
We work pretty closely with some retired Paterson guys, I’ll shoot this over to them.
FYI he 'sells' a book that he claims part of the proceeds goes toward September 11 charities. First he self published the book, which in and of itself is not necessarily a sign of guilt because many people self publish, BUT I DARE YOU to find a record of him making donations to any charity associated with September 11 either in his personal name or the name of his company/website 911 USA Hope.
Unbelievable!!!! How can he get away with it???? Some of the legitimate responders should show up at his next speaking engagement and out him!!!! 🤬
I got nothing nice to say
Police officer, nurse, paramedic, and firefighter? What’s wrong with you guys, this guy is a true all American hero 😂😂
Maybe he will write a sequel!! I have the title! “I Lied”.
How come the crazy ones never have personal FB pages
Someone needs to get a hold of the speakers bureau and let them know they're booking for a fraud
Well known in North Jersey EMS circles.....and that's all I'm going to say about that...
This article says he was a nyc firefighter... philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2011/09/07/nyc-firefighter-author-shares-his-911-experiences-with-templ...
It's that time of the year.
There's a registered paramedic named Fabrizio Bivona...
CBS Philly better rescind this story and podcast. Absolute disgrace what he, the Kentucky guy and the Georgia guy have done. Good work FireWire!
I can confirm he is a medic and a nurse, I worked with him in the late 90s and early 2000s ....he is shady AF , always was ...
Billy Harrison Jr.
Can’t find that in my hazmat book!
Just what is it used for in a Hospital... I cannot find a straight answer to that question...
Looks like the container needs a container, wherever this stuff is kept. Hoping no one is hurt.
That's very serious and extraordinarily dangerous stuff.
After reading the supplied links, I couldn't find anything about usage except that's it's used in textile manufacturing. Anyone know anything more specific about its usage? That's some scary stuff.
be safe all..
Methyl ethyl bad shit..... Stay safe...
Flash point is around 52 degrees F. Be careful gents.
Stay safe guys that is some really nasty stuff
That’s one way to get a new office
Besides being exceedingly toxic, corrosive, and flammable, it is also Pyrophoric. Looks like HAZMAT 1 has a live one on their hands.

like making new friend add me up if you don't mind
How about teaching kids that the police are their friends, too. Or were they left out intentionally? 🙄
Hello lol Division15 in the hause
or you can teach them that you can FAIL requirements and still be hired but some already know that
And police officers also.
why would people do that when your own department can't even do that
You'll never walk alone
THE FEW THE PROUD THE FDNY
So much for diversity
As a New York City fireman and a engine chauffeur I do not support these guys. Everytime you go down the street they're double-parked or they are driving slow they only have one thing which is the address on that phone and they lack intelligence. There could be a spot open just ahead and these guys will still double Park. It isn't just a few of them.
So sick of these companies! Tired of sitting in traffic and all the cars around me have T plates and are empty!! Driving 15 mph while checking their phones for calls. Want to help congestion, cut the amount of these cars down by half.
Engines and ladders have great bumpers. I’ve heard.......
New York State has been trying to go after Uber and Lyft for awhile now. They are direct competition to the yellow cabs. So imo, I’ll take Uber any day. But sure, you all keep talking about how you’d bump them out of the way lmao.
Love how they try to inconvenience others while at the same time loosing pay for not taking trips all day
Isn’t there a law against driving so much under the posted speed limit? They should all be ticketed!
The city is gridlock every day thanks to these for hire cars. They also behave on their own road rules, so what they want and never see cops ticket them...
That’s their normal speed...in the center and left lanes.
I’m glad I stopped driving for them 3 years ago.
Everyone saying that they would hit these cars with their fire trucks, please show me video of you doing that in your town. I’ll wait.........
That's the way you earn business! What a flawless plan!
So you’re against uber, against Lyft, you want bicycle lanes taken away, taxi’s park in your way; if New Yorkers could fly to work, you would find a way for that to inconvenience you. You work in the largest city in the United States. You are going to have unique problems. Maybe start offering alternative solutions and not blaming every single problem on a mayor or a governor or a president. You are Firemen. You have the greatest job in the world. Don’t lose site of that.
Just a gentle reminder that in the 80’s we (UFA) had a protest march to City Hall, we took over the bridge
There are WAY to many TLC plates in the city. Uber and lift made traffic so much worse!!! Get rid of them all together!!
I’ll remember this day when the Do you want to tip” button comes up after the ride.
Get rid of ubers. Go back to the local and yellow cabs. We added 100k drivers to the city that literally drive around slow looking at their phone to catch a fare...
Call out the snow plows!
So, you’re saying that traffic in NYC moves more than 5mph from 0630-1000????
So it's a regular day for them?
Good for them… For years the Owners of Yellow Cabs INFLATED the prices of Medallions Into the Millions for ONE MEDALLION and the taxi and limousine commission let them get away with it. Finally it’s coming back to bite them in the ass.
TLC drivers are worse than the yellow cabs, and that's saying a lot. How do you drive for a living and still not know how to drive?
Thank your Mayor and Governor And Politicians They ruined N.Y. That is all.......
I say drive right through. F that. How can you voluntarily be a Uber or lift driver and have the nerve to complain?!
They go 5 miles mph on FDR everyday.
The story of Engine 212, how the community saved the firehouse from closing during the NYC Budget crisis of the 1970's. Unfortunately, in 2003, Mayor Bloomberg closed Engine 212. To this day, the firehouse sits vacant at 136 Wythe Ave. ... See MoreSee Less
NYC Fire Wire we have an amazing story from when 218 was going to be closed in the 70s. It was incredible what the neighborhood did. I’ll take photos of it and pass it along to you and you can post it
And then the children and grandchildren of these great people sold out their neighborhood and community which is now taken over by hipsters and the empty firehouse stands covered in graffiti.
Thank you sharing video. I reside 1 mile away.
Bloomberg closed it ultimately, after all the neighborhood did to try to save it. Talk at the time was he said ppl were moving away from the waterfront. Hence the crazy development of luxury hi rises
Thanks for posting this video. The ‘70’s were a terrible time in the City with urban decay, squalor, and political corruption. Driving down property values and driving out residents for land grabs.
They should have kept the firehouse open but staffed it with volunteers, if money was an issue.
Is the fire houses still there.
Old school Brooklyn people no hipsters in this video ...
You are wrong it was a Republican that closed it up
I covered that w Hal Goldenberg for the NYPost they took over quaters and camped out there for several days and beat Shitty Hall
